Map Pool

The map pool for Newcomer-Main will be as follows:

  • cp_process_f12
  • cp_snakewater_final1
  • koth_clearcut_b15d
  • cp_gullywash_f9
  • koth_bagel_rc5
  • cp_sultry_b8
  • koth_product_final
  • cp_sunshine

Alternative 5CP Map Option - cp_metalworks_f5

The alternative map is a map that IM and Main teams can agree to opt into if they do not want to play the regular map for the week. For this season, the alternative map will be cp_metalworks_f5.

Invite and Advanced Map Pool

The map pool for Invite and Advanced will use a slightly altered map pool used by the rest of the league.

  • cp_gullywash_f9
  • koth_bagel_rc5
  • cp_sultry_b8
  • cp_snakewater_final1
  • koth_product_final
  • cp_process_f12
  • cp_granary_pro_rc8
  • cp_sunshine

Invite and Advanced will also be offered the option to vote out one map and vote in two more, for a total of nine maps. This voting will take place after registration closes, once teams have been placed. The Invite and Advanced admins will reach out to teams in both divisions and provide them with a google form where they can vote. Please note that the alternative 5cp map will not apply to Invite and Advanced, as these divisions will continue doing pick/bans for map selection instead of a weekly map rotation.

Admin List

The admin list for Season 11 is as follows:

Head Admin - virgil

Division Moderators:

Note: Internal admins will be assisting regular admins/mods with tickets and other internal matters. If you need help, please open a support ticket or reach out to your div admin/mod.

Season Changes

In response to various feedback, we’re trying out a variety of new things for this season, all of which are listed below.

Changes to Restrictions and Sandbagging Policies

We’ve updated our sandbagging policies and roster restriction policies to address holistically strong rosters. In the past, we’ve allowed for entire teams to move down a division provided every player receives a class restriction. However, this has typically shown to not be effective, as the entire team still has synergy and experience from the previous higher division that allow them to perform extremely well in the lower division. As such, we are now restricting all rosters to no more than 4 main class restrictions per 6s roster. This means that you can have no more than 4 different players on a roster that have a restriction on either scout, soldier or demo. We’ll monitor how this new change affects sandbagging this season, and see if the rule needs to be revisited. For more information of class and roster restrictions, please see Rule 1006.2.5 - Sandbagging and Class Restrictions.

Format Wide Config Changes

While configs will remain the same for the Newcomer and Amateur divisions, Intermediate divisions and above will be using the progressive config. This config has a first to 5 win limit for the first 30 minutes, and after 30 minutes has passed, the win limit is reduced to 1+ the current max number of rounds a team has scored. For example, if after 30 minutes the current round score is 3-1, the new round win limit will be reduced to 4. At the moment, there is no upper bound on how long matches will run, but thorough testing shows matches will typically last between 40-50 minutes. Even so, since IM, Main, and Advanced have not ran the config yet, we will be monitoring match length closely and, if needed, will add an overall max match time limit after week two in the season. This config will be named rgl_6s_5cp_match_pro.cfg for 5cp, and rgl_6s_koth_pro.cfg.

Round timers will be reduced to 4 minutes for every div.

The config has been uploaded to RGL’s git for server updates.

Whitelist Changes

In the post s10 survey, 41% of polled players voted to unban the Buffalo Steak Sandvich, 31% voted to keep it banned, and the remaining 28% were neutral. In the spirit of change, we’re unbanning the Buffalo Steak Sandvich this season. We will be monitoring games to see how this item impacts game flow, if it does at all.
