RGL will be kicking off the 2021 year with the 6v6 Winter Cup in partnership with
Qixalite.
This will be a two-day event to kick off the start of the new year. The cup will host maps played in the most recent season of RGL and will have a small entry fee to fund the prize pool of the cup. Teams that need servers will be able to bookmark a server courtesy of Qixalite for the event. Divisions
The cup will follow a division structure, such as a normal season of RGL Traditional Sixes. This means that there will be at least 6 divisions:
Invite,
Advanced,
Main,
Intermediate,
Amateur, and
Newcomer.
The Invite division structure will be finalized, once we are able to get a finalized team count for the group. Other divisions will run a swiss-format.
Entry Fee and Prizes
There will be a small entry fee for the cup. With the cup having fewer matches than a normal season of sixes, as well as it spanning only across two-days -- the fees for the event will be updated to reflect this.
- Invite - $10
- Advanced - $5
- Main - $5
- Intermediate - $5
- Amateur / Newcomer - Free
Prizes- With an estimated 56 teams, we can expect up to $1,900+ prize pool for the event. The top 4 teams of each division will earn cash prizes. Final splits and percentages will be announced after the cup, once the full player count and prize pool is tallied up.
- The captains of the winning teams for all divisions will receive premium status for booking servers in Qixalite for a 1-month period.
Structure & Ruleset
5CP Maps will be played first to 5 wins or 30 minutes. KotH will be played first to 3 round wins.
On day one, all teams will play 4 matches. For Invite, the playoffs will be a double-elimination bracket from the top 4 teams in a division. The remaining divisions will be a single-elimination structure for the top half of the teams.

Cup Rules
RingersPlease refer to our ringer rules for more information.
Ringers should be reasonably among the skill experience of players in the match. As long as all 6-players on a team are paid up, ringers do not have to pay a fee to participate in the cup. There will be a maximum of two ringers per match.
Golden CapGolden cap will have a 10-minute time limit. In the event that neither team successfully captures the last point within that time limit, the team that currently holds the middle point will win the match.
Out of region participantsEach team will be allowed a maximum of two non-NA players per roster. This follows the
RGL global rules.
Required STV demosPublic STV demos for all matches will be required for Invite. These will be major warnings during the cup that will result in the loss of prize money. The first two major warnings will both reduce prize earnings by 20%.
Pick/ban format (automated system through the site):

- Away bans a map
