Important Season 17 Dates

Registration for RGL Highlander Season 17 is now open! The new team registration deadline is January 17th at 11:59 PM EST.

The season dates are below:

• New Team Registration Open: Sun, Dec 17th
• Invite and Advanced registration Ends: Jan 10th @ 11:59 PM EST
• General Registration Ends: Wed, Jan 17th @ 11:59 PM EST
• Qualifiers (if needed): Sat, Jan 20th - Mon, Jan 22nd
• Division placements finalized, week 1 matches scheduled: Wed, Jan 24th
• Invite Fees Due: Mon, Jan 29th (Time extension is given for qualifier teams.)
• Regular Season: Mon, Jan 29th – Mon, Mar 11th (7 Weeks)
• Roster Locks: Sun, Mar 3rd @ 11:59 PM EST
• Playoffs Start: TBA
• Last possible date for playoff matches: TBA

Staff Changes

The following members of the HL admin team will be stepping down from their positions and leaving RGL staff:

• Rebel (S16 Main Moderator)
• vorboyvo (S16 Floating Staff)
• Parmigiancarlo (S16 Advanced Moderator)

We are currently still filling roles on Highlander staff and shifting other staff roles to accommodate, so be on the lookout for another article for the completed list of staff changes.

Important Info for Invite and Advanced Teams

Invite and Advanced will have 8 spots this season, with at least one spot reserved for qualifier teams if needed. The regular season for Invite and Advanced will span 7 weeks with an 8-team round-robin. Invite and Advanced playoffs will be played as a 4-team double-elimination.

Qualifiers

If necessary, Qualifiers for Invite and Advanced will run January 20th-January 22nd. The Invite, Advanced, and Main admin teams will be analyzing scrim results and player history to determine the teams that are best suited the play in Qualifiers. However, you may also contact your division admins if your team would like to be considered for Qualifiers. Teams will be notified if they are in Qualifiers on or before January 17th.

Invite Prize Money Distribution and Team Fees (in USD)

Team Fees: $153 ($17 per starter)
1st place will receive $516
2nd place will receive $350
3rd place will receive $158

How to Find a Team to Join

Finding a team is not hard, but it does require you to put in a little effort.

Players New to Competitive:

We encourage you to make a post in the website’s Looking For Team (LFT) section and also post in our Discord server’s #looking-for-team-hl channel.

You should also contact leaders of teams who need a player. You can find them listed in the Teams Looking for Players (LFP) section and also the LFP section of our Discord server’s #looking-for-player-hl channel.

Players Experienced in Competitive:

We particularly encourage you to make a thread on the RGL HL LFT forums section. This will allow you to advertise yourself to higher-profile teams.

Browsing the LFP section of the forums will also present you with many teams that are looking to recruit players.
