How to find a team to join

Finding a team is not hard, but it does require you to put in a little effort.

New Players to Competitive:

We encourage you to make a post in the websites Looking For Team (LFT) section and also post in our Discord #lft channel.

You should also contact leaders of teams who need a player. You can find them listed in the Teams Looking for Players (LFP) section and also the LFP section of our Discord #lfp channel.

Experienced Players to Competitive:

We particularly encourage you to make a thread on the RGL HL LFT forums section. This will allow you to advertise yourself to higher profile teams.

Browsing the LFP section of the forums will also present you with many teams that are looking to recruit players.

Invite Preseason Qualifiers

We will be introducing the Invite Preseason Qualifiers for Season 4. The qualifiers will take place from September 30th - October 1st (9:30 ET on Saturday, and 8:30/930 ET on Sundays). There will be set maps for each match using the Season 4 map pool (first match will be on Upward, 2nd match will be on Product, and 3rd match will be decided using a map pick/ban system). The confirmed teams that were chosen are a mix of the returning top 4 teams from Season 3, new strong forming teams for Season 4, and the Advanced winning teams. We will be looking to have coverage of these matches, but nothing is final currently.

Our confirmed teams for Season 4 are:

For the preseason qualifiers, we will feature 1 group of 4 teams in a group stage structure. We will be running a 9-team Invite. The top 2 teams will earn their spot in Invite for Season 4.

The four teams competing in the Invite qualifiers are:

Regarding the teams that get knocked down into Advanced, we are looking to lax the guidelines for Invite players participating in this division.

Sponsorship

We are happy to announce that RGL Invite Highlander Season 4 will be sponsored!

We would like to thank Mannco.store for contributing $500 in cash prizes to the existing $1,000 prize pool for Season 4. This means that the placement teams will receive a balance in $ on the site, which they can either cash out or buy items with on the site.

This means the total prize pool for the season will amount to $1,500 in cash prizes for the top 3 teams.

Region Wars

The first RGL Highlander Region Wars cup has concluded with many unexpected results. Div-1 had 5 regions that signed up: Southwest, Northeast, Midwest, South, and Europe. Div-2 had 6 regions that signed up: Southwest, Northeast, South, Midwest, Canada, and Europe. Although Europe displayed a dominant performance, it was the Southwest roster that managed to surprise many with their win over both Europe and Midwest.

Congratulations to Southwest for winning the Region Wars Cup. Their winning roster is as followed:

  • pablo
  • eX.Hunter
  • HA Johhny
  • Arzt Hispanian
  • RonnieJ
  • exa_
  • Wall
  • lenny
  • manbug

2nd Place: Midwest
3rd Place: South

Div-2
1st Place: Europe
2nd Place: South
3rd Place: Northeast

Schedule Updates and Reminders

New team registration ends and Invite fees are due on September 30th. Placement of teams will be done on the following day.

Regarding the medal situation, we are waiting on a few things from Valve. Please be patient, as we will distribute the medals for Season 3 as soon as we can. Thanks!

For divisions such as Advanced and Main, you must need approval from the respective division admins in order to roster Invite players. It should be noted that these players are subject to class restrictions.

Rule Changes

There was a mistake that was made in the previous article regarding the penalties As such, the penalties for our Code of Conduct have been updated to the following:

We plan on updating the rules prior to the start of Season 4 to address any potential loopholes or issues that could arise during the season.

Placements

Teams that believe they belong in a higher division should be able to defeat at least half of the division above their current division OR dominate most of the top teams in their current division.

Please note that a team’s division is still subject to change as the week goes on or if a team leader can make a compelling case for being in a division. Players that leave and join new rosters during the season will also be monitored, teams with significant changes will regularly be reevaluated and placed in a division. If you believe that a team should be in a different division, you can contact us here on Discord.

Discord roles will not be handled out until placements are finalized.
